This photo was taken at a jewelery stand at the May 1st festivals in the village of Burosse-Mendousse. The beads in the middle come from Afghanistan, but the saleswoman clarified that she had bought them in Rome. Not quite as adventurous a story as if she had actually been to Afghanistan, but an interesting journey for the bead, for sure.
