It may sound odd to search out cemeteries while traveling, but we found the cemeteries in Central Asia beautiful and peaceful. And, it is fascinating to see how each culture treats their departed loved ones.

I understand the feeling of searching out cemeteries. It is not unusual in my opinion. You can learn a lot about an area from the cemetery there.
