Warriors at the Ready

The main pit (Pit #1) of the Terra Cotta Warriors is impressive in its vast size and concept. The Emperor of Qin certainly had an ego when he commissioned thousands of warriors to protect him in his tomb and fight for him in death (209 BC).Only parts have been fully excavated with statues carefully re-pieced together. Originally, the 8,000+ warriors were colorfully painted, which would have been almost too overwhelming for the senses. © www.uncorneredmarket.com Warriors at the Ready
