Hainanese Chicken Rice is another culinary specialty unique to Singapore. It doesn't sound very exciting at first - rice cooked in chicken broth, slices of roasted (or steamed) chicken served with cucumbers and herbs, hot sauce and sweet soy sauce, and a light chicken stock soup with vegetables. The result is delicious, however as the different, subtle tastes play off each other perfectly.
