Liberation Day (May 8) - Plzen, Czech Republic

Liberation Day (World War II) is celebrated a little differently in Plzen than in other parts of the Czech Republic since it was American troops who freed Plzen from the Nazis, while in Prague and other parts it was the Soviet troops. The folks in Plzen remember this and honor the American troops with a model American army camp, a show of classic and antique American cars, country music, and a show of American and Czech flags flying everywhere. As an American, it's quite moving to see. Liberation Day (May 8) - Plzen, Czech Republic
