We came upon this monastery while hiking from Camogli to Portofino. The only way to get to the beach here is by foot or by boat. After a long hike during a hot day, we had visions of friendly monks welcoming us with cold frothy beers. There were no beers or monks to meet us, but the refreshing water rejuvenated us for the rest of the hike.
