Our guide told us this giant Espanola tortoise's name was Gringo Diego. He was transplanted from a zoo in California back to his homeland (the Galapagos Islands) in 1977 to serve as a stud to help produce more tortoise babies.

He's supposedly quite successful at his job, too.
