Audrey holds a bag of coca leaves we bought at the market in Cuzco for $0.66. Chewing coca leaves is a natural remedy for altitude sickness and for giving an extra energy kick. We chewed a few on our way up to the 4,650 meter (15,525 foot) pass at Salkantay glacier in Peru.
