Older women pray and make offerings at this large Buddhist statue at Phnom Sampeau.

Unfortunately, this temple hill is also known as the "killing caves" of the Khmer Rouge. Two large encasements of human skulls and bones are on display in the two cave areas as a memorial to those whose remains were found here after the deadly reign of the Khmer Rouge in 1975-1979.
