Koh Pha Ngan Island, Thailand

Located just northeast of Ko Samui, Koh Pha Ngan is best known for its crazy full moon party. For us, it's a place to stay in a simple bungalow on the beach and relax with a book. We first visited in January 2005 and returned for Christmas 2006.

Buddhist Spirit House

A phi, found everywhere throughout Southeast Asia, is a small house or shrine on top of a column or pole and can be found just about anywhere in Southeast Asia in the vicinity where Buddhism is practiced.
