Aloo Gobi and Mutter Methi Malai

Another fantastic meal, this one home-cooked by our friends' Nepalese cook in Chandigarh. We were still full from breakfast, but couldn't resist these dishes when they were placed before us and accompanied by hot, buttered chapatis. Our friends are spoiled.© www.uncorneredmarket.com

Curries and Greens

The night market in Krabi had some of the best food we tasted in all of Thailand. The curry stands would offer up to 20 types of curry with various kinds of meat, seafood and vegetables. A tray of vegetables - long beans, cucumbers, various herbs - would be waiting at the table with nam prik dipping sauce and a glass of ice and a pitcher of water. A perfect and light orchestration of tastes. We drank the water and ate the greens repeatedly without any tummy troubles. And, a plate with rice and two curries cost less than $1.Read more about Krabi's cheap and divine eats.
